Bob’s Bio
Specialty Lock and Door Company opened for business in the mountains of Western North Carolina in 2004, but the real story begins back in 1977. At this time owner/operator Bob LaBracio entered the field of locksmithing and security related products.
Bob learned the art of locksmithing from a Second-Generation Master Locksmith in Elizabeth, N.J. For the next eleven years he worked in the field of residential and commercial installation, sales and service of doors and door hardware.
Bob’s knowledge of hardware prompted him to pursue a sales career as a representative for an International Wholesale Hardware Distributor located in Atlanta GA. This position encompassed territories from Orlando to Key West and North and South Carolina.
His experience lead him to an Independent Representative Agency for various decorative hardware lines. This was when the seed was planted to one day own a decorative hardware store…
Bob’s sales training and knowledge of security related products directed him to become a factory representative for Sargent Lock Company owned by Assa Abloy. His territory covered all five New England States leading a team of five sales representatives.
Bob’s career history allowed him to visit much of the United States and Canada but it was the beauty of the surroundings and the warmth of the people that attracted Bob to achieve a 25-year goal and establish Specialty Lock and Door Company here in the mountains of Haywood County, Western North Carolina.
Bob’s customers appreciate his “tell it like it is” approach and superb work ethic. It is his desire to provide professional customer service, guaranteed installation, fairness and the best prices possible.
